RE: iNotes performance considerations ~Dexter Kiboosioopsi 28.Mar.03 01:17 PM a Web browser iNotes Web Access 6.0.1Windows 2000
We're using a mix of Notes and iNotes on an iSeries 270-2454 (Bumblebee). We have 12 disk arms in 2 RAID-5 arrays and 1.5GB memory. It's a 2-way machine and we currently have about 350 users on the system. We're on 6.0.1 and using SSL for everything with 100MB Ethernet. On a 300 MHZ, Win2k, IE6, 192MB Ram PC I test with I can open an e-mail message within 2 seconds. Switching to a month view of my calendar or another mail folder is about 8 seconds and to the contacts is about 12 seconds. On my regular PC (1.3GHZ, Win2K, IE6, 512MB Ram) I am switching folders in about 4 seconds and also opening my contacts in about 4 seconds.
I don't think that's too bad at all personally, I find myself using iNotes a lot. We're also rolling out iNotes as the only option for many of our users!
The "iNotes 6" you speak of should be in 6.0.2. There should be a blue UI with the Forms6.nsf, you should be able to set IWA as the default mail client, next and previous buttons in an open memo, rules, and more... I can't wait!
